Since 2004, after the original Livingston Parish Recreation District #6 board was dissolved, the community has struggled to have adequate space for our youth to be able to grow as a person and an athlete.

Albany Youth Association (AYA) has been providing a great way for out community youth to participate in sport activities; unfortunately our community has outgrown the facilities that the school can provide use of. The recreation board was re-established in May 2024, to put together a plan and hopefully build a park that will allow the community to grow and our families to have a fun safe place for out kids to enjoy sports.

Our vision as a board for the Albany community is to build Baseball fields, Softball fields, a football/soccer field, gymnasium, walking track and other sporting facilities. We are hoping to provide fun, safe activities for all ages.

Thank you for taking time to read about our vision and advocating on behalf of the Livingston Parish Recreation District #6. By helping us advocate, we can make sure that the Albany area is a place where all families and youth find a place they belong.
